The Plumbers' Workbench

The Plumbers' Workbench is a workstation application with CMS in its back room.  This allows you easy access to all of CMS Pipelines from your workstation.

The Plumbers' Workbench supports OS2 Warp, Windows 95, and Windows NT.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the  PWB VMARC  file to your CMS.  It should be a F80 file; if it is not, make it one:

        PIPE < PWB VMARC | fblock 80 | > PWB VMARC A FIXED

  2. Extract the files:

        VMARC UNPACK PWB VMARC

  3. Download PWBCTL CMDBIN in binary and store as pwbctl.cmd in a directory in your path.  For OS2, download VMPIPE EXEBIN; for Windows, download VMPIPE.EXENTBIN.  In either case, be sure to download binary and store the file as vmpipe.exe in a directory in your path.
  4. Customise the client by setting the environment variables:
  5. Customise the server by editing the PWB CLIENTS file and the PWB SERVER file.
  6. On Windows, install pre-requisites.  Both environments require the Object REXX product, 5639-B72 or 5639-B71.
On Windows95, also install Winsock 2.  You can download it from Microsoft.
