This is the home of the FreeVM specification.
It would be called OpenVM, but that name was taken.
There is a disscusion list: FreeVM-L.
There is (was) a SourceForge project called FreeVM. 

FreeVM is a means of describing virtual machines. 
When we speak of virtual machines,  think "virtual memory" 
extended to all parts of the computer:  CPU, disk, network, 
not just memory,  but where "virtual" for the others carries 
the same meaning as it does for memory. 
 
We seek to harmonize z/VM, VMware, Microsoft Virtual Server, 
Virtuozzo, User Mode Linux, Xen, and even the emulators 
Hercules and BOCHS.
